LITERACY PROJECT BROADMERE SCHOOLOn Thursday 15th March Rotarians Peter Mansell and Ben Flude visited Broadmere School on behalf of the Club to present books to every child. This was part of the Literacy Project run by The Sheerwater and Maybury Partnerships which our Club has been supporting for the last two years. The children had previously been given the opportunity to select a book
of
their own choice and the joy on their faces on receiving their own
copy was proof enough of the value of supporting this project. Many of
these
children have had to learn English as a second language and they
obviously valued owning a book of their own. |
