Rotary’s stroke awareness day a great success - A record 501 blood pressure tests were taken for shoppers during the Woking Rotary Stroke Awareness day.
A St John Ambulance unit was set up outside Christ Church in Town Square , Woking , and free advice offered about strokes and high blood pressure.
The day was organised by the Rotary Club of Woking with the help of the Rotary Club of Woking District and Woking Soroptomists.
As a result of the day 4 people with very high blood pressure were advised to go to the Woking Community Hospital Walk-In Centre, and 31 people advised to see their doctor.
The Mayor of Woking gave his support during the day encouraging the public to participate.
Rotary Club of Woking would like to express our gratitude and many thanks to all the team led by Surrey St John Ambulance Brigade nurses, together with the advanced first aiders from Community First Responders, who gave their time to make it a successful day for the benefit of the Woking community.
