District 1140 Conference 2012

Bristol - October 19th-21st

After the success of the District Conference in Southampton , I recommend Woking Rotarians to consider joining your fellow members at the Bristol Conference in 2012.

Good number of Club members have already registered for the conference, District have a full programme of events planned including interesting and thought provoking speakers (last year the speakers were excellent), a Gala Dinner and for the Golfers a Golf match on Friday 19th.

The Conference will be held at the Marriott Hotel in the city centre of Bristol and it is planned that all Delegates will be accommodated in the Marriott unlike previous years were delegates were accommodated in near by Hotels.

In addition, to the District programme of events, it is possible that the Clubs can plan their own events, with Club Dinner on Friday night in one of the many excellent restaurants in Bristol . In Southampton we had a very enjoyable Club Dinner that everyone thoroughly enjoyed. On the Saturday afternoon we have further spare time and our club in Southampton had a light lunch together and then some went shopping, others visited the sights well others relaxed in the Hotel prior to the Ball that evening. We can do a similar thing in Bristol , where there are excellent Shops (Harvey Nichols, John Lewis etc.) and for sight seeing there is an opportunity to see the Famous Clifton suspension Bridge and the Harbour side where Brunel’s “HMS Great Britain” is docked.
