The Rotary Club of Woking was as formed in 1922 and has served the Woking Community ever since. The first Club Meeting was held on 12th May 1922 at the Albion Hotel. The first president was Dr. John Laurie and he has been followed by so many excellent presidents. The members which are both men & women have over the last 89 years give wonderful service to Woking and the International Community. The mottos “service before self” since mean a lot to our members and we strive to give high standards and an example to all we meet. The club is involved with both the local community with such things as Kids Out, Stroke Awareness, Charity Swimathon and also Internationally with project that help with disasters, Shelter Box and Polio Plus. The club is proud of it past record and will continue to give service to the local and international communities for the foreseeable future.
The Rotary Club of Woking Benevolent Fund ("RCWBF") is the vehicle for our charitable funding. It is a registered charity (N0. 200585) and donations to it can be made as Gift Aid. The five Trustees of RCWBF are Club members, and under the terms of the Trust Deed the Trustees are subject to direction from the Club. (The Club itself is a members' club, not a charity).
